So I’m not sure if you’ve noticed or not, but the Debt Free Friday series has become a bit of a bi-weekly series. It coincides with our pay weeks, and I’ve been super struggling with my schedule lately anyways. I’m working on that!
I’ve got a fun idea I’m planning on doing an A-Z of homesteading challenge that will have 26 hopefully fun/awesome articles on all things homesteading. I’m needing something to push me out of the rut I’ve been in lately with my writing.
But today is Friday so enough about all that jazz and onto where we’re at….in one word: Stress!
Seriously, I am a stressed out mess. Last week was the worst, I was losing my mind stressing out about everything. Basically, I have no idea where we’re going to be living. Dustin said he is fine with commuting, and I’m glad we don’t have to rush….But I really want to sell my house.
We live in a very awesome neighborhood that has had a great resurgence in the last few years. West Michigan on a whole is really booming right now and this is definitely a sellers market. So I know if we put the house up on the market we’d sell quickly. And for a good price.
Which would mean we could wipe out all of our consumer debt in one go.
So you can see why I’m a little stressed out right now. Because while it would be easy to sell our house, finding something on the other end is way harder. There are basically no rentals available where we’re moving, and I’m super stressed about applying for a mortgage.
I’m working on not worrying (yeah that’s working) and doing some credit repair as fast as I can. We’re paying down our debt, improving the debt ratio and all that jazz. But yeah….tell that to my stress levels!
Anyways, this week we both got paid. And can I just say that I am in love with Dustin’s insurance! We were both able to go on his insurance, which is far superior to anything I’ve had before, and it’s cheaper too. Yay! This is the first week where my paycheck won’t have insurance on it! *Happy Dance*
I was also finally able to get in and talk with a tax accountant about how I royally screwed up our taxes. She fixed it and we’ll be getting a check in the mail! That check is going to go directly towards paying off a credit card. Double Yay!
Paid the rest of the bills for July this paycheck. I have enough leftover where I could pay off the small credit card. But I am too nervous lately. It seems like every time I’m about to make a big payment something comes up. I know it’s ridiculous, but I just can’t help it.
I’m going to let the balance ride until our next paycheck and then pay off our first card. It’s going to be a good day around here! And trust me I’ll be celebrating with you guys. Where are you at in your journey?
