I am so excited to share my first Stitch Fix box goodies with you guys, this was part of my motivation effort this holiday season. If I stick to my workout efforts I get to schedule another box! Plus, being able to change the sizes is a good motivation to bust my butt!
Kathy Striped Fit & Flare Dress by Pixley
Initial thoughts: Loved the fabric and I am a huge fan of stripes, a little leery of the length though as it was much shorter than I normally wear. The sleeves and the neckline are adorable.
Wearing it: The fabric felt nice, but I just did not feel comfortable in this dress. You can see it in the picture, it was tight over my least favorite body area (tummy) and the sleeves were a bit tight but I loved the length of them.
Verdict: It’s going back, just wasn’t in love with it.
Esten Button-Up Sleeveless Blouse by Collective Concepts
Initial Thoughts: I loved this one SO much! The fabric was light and soft, the hidden buttons were really cute, and I love the color. I really wanted this one to fit and look as nice on me as in the box.
Wearing It: Sigh, the problems of a chesty girl… I can never wear button up’s they always pucker funny… Sigh. I loved it otherwise, and maybe if I keep up my workout routine like I am supposed to I will get to the point where I can wear a button up.
Verdict: Sadly, it’s going back. I loved this top so much, but the pucker of the button up just wasn’t working. But when I am down a size I will remember this top and find it.
Hanneli Polka Dot Swing Skirt by Pixley
Initial Thoughts: I LOVE polka dots, and this skirt was so swishy and flowy. It looked so cute coming out of the box and I really really wanted to love this one. It even matched the button up shirt they sent me so I hoped I could get a full outfit!
Wearing It: LOVED IT! Lol, brought out a little sass even for the picture. It fit nicely, still swishy and fell at a good spot. I felt good in this skirt.
Verdict: Keeping it.
Dorie Collarless Blazer by 41Hawthorn
Initial Thoughts: I really loved the color, not something I would normally choose for myself. I also loved the fact that it is collarless, usually with blazers I get really annoyed by the collar. I really liked that it would pair nicely with the dress or the skirt/top combination.
Wearing It: It just did not feel good on. The sleeves were tight and it didn’t close properly. I just did not feel comfortable in it. I still love the color and the fact that it is collarless.
Verdict: It’s going back as well. I couldn’t pull it off yet.
Astrid Spade Print Tie-Neck Blouse by 41Hawthorne
Initial Thoughts: This one is probably my favorite. The fabric is so soft and while I’m usually a complete dunce about tie thingys I really like the challenge. The pattern is really fun too.
Wearing It: I love this one. It felt SO comfortable, perfect for dressing up or wearing with a pair of jeans. The hem is nice and rounded and it isn’t tight over my tummy. I felt pretty in it! Someone will definitely have to help me figure out how to do the tie thingy properly
Verdict: Keeping it! As soon as I put it on I knew I wanted this one!
Overall I was very happy with my first Stitch Fix box! I loved the choices my stylist made and the style cards give me good ideas on what to do with these items. I am really not stylish and I hate trying on clothes at the store. It was nice to be able to try them on at home, and try on some things I might not have chosen for myself.
