I love getting Stitch Fix boxes! It’s so fun to get those items and see what the stylist has sent. To try on things I might not pick out for myself, and find some of my favorite wardrobe items in the process. But it was also frustrating because I was right at the top end of Stitch Fix sizes.
I wear a size 14 pretty consistently. But often times I would have items that were tight in the arms, snug around the girls, or too short. It was frustrating. So imagine my joy when I saw that Stitch Fix had expanded their sizes to a 16!! WOOOO
Dustin got his box last week and now it’s my turn and I am pumped. I got five great items and can’t wait to show them to you guys!
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Stitch Fix, they’re a service that picks out 5 items for you based on your style profile. You get those items shipped directly to your house for $20. Mally Textured Ponte Jacket by Kensie
Initial Thoughts: I’m a huge fan of ponte fabric, it’s super wearable and doesn’t wrinkle. I love it. This jacket is interesting, I like the cape style thing in theory, but know it might make me look like a 90 year old woman. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Wearing It: I was right, not a good look for me. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but definitely not flattering for me.
Decision: Sent back
Linette Cowl Neck Pullover Sweater by Skies are Blue
Initial Thoughts: Ohh, I’m so in love with this. The color is great and the fabric is so soft. I love and hate cowl neck sweaters. They’re so cute, but I always feel awkward in them. I get a little self counscious when I wear them because, well, I feel like they make me look fat.
Wearing It: So I really like it a lot on me. The color is good and the cowl isn’t too overwhelming.
Decision: I liked it, but didn’t love it enough to justify the price.
Sutherlin Contrast Print Knit Top by Le Lis
Initial Thoughts: I’m not sure how I feel about horizontal stripes, but the fabric is really soft! It’s definitely not something I would normally pick for myself, so it should be interesting! I do love 3/4 length sleeves and the longer length of it. That always makes me happy.
Wearing It: I like this shirt, Meaghan assures me that the horizontal stripes don’t look weird and the fabric is so soft and comfortable.
Decision: Kept it.
Mira Skinny Jeans by Liverpool
Initial Thoughts: I have another pair of skinny pants from Liverpool that I kept before and I wear them for work, I’m really excited for the larger size with skinny jeans. I majorly love the fall look of skinny jeans and tall boots.
Wearing It: So they’re quite comfortable, and I like them a lot. But have the same problem I find with my other Liverpool pants, the waist rolls down really easily. And I know it’s because of my body shape and where I carry my fat but still annoying.
Decision: Like them a lot, but sending them back because of the price.
Nehalem Woven Back Knit Top by Le Lis
Initial Thoughts: I love this SO much! I wish you guys could feel the fabric, it is so soft and that color. Oh I love the color. The long lenth and sleeves are similar to the other Le Lis top I got in this fix and I am a big fan of that.
Wearing It: This shirt makes me pretty dang happy. It’s quite flattering, a good color for me, and definitely something I will wear a lot.
Decision: Happilty keeping it.
