I am really excited for this month’s Stitch Fix! My stylist Madison did an amazing job and just pulling everything out of the box I knew that this was going to be a good one. If you’re not familiar with it, Stitch Fix is a service that pairs you up with your own personal stylist who uses your profile, style Pinterest board, and any notes your send to pick out 5 items for you to try on in the comfort of your own home. If you like the items you pay for them and keep them, if you aren’t in love with them (or they don’t fit) you send them back with the pre-paid bag they send. It’s awesome, especially if you’re style challenged like me!
Because of Stitch fix I’ve been able to add a couple of awesome new quality pieces to my wardrobe and I get compliments every time I wear one of them! The style profile that you fill out gives you the opportunity to share your favorites and things you absolutely won’t wear, pick different patterns or colors you prefer, and a sliding scale of how brave you’re willing to be. I’m totally open to going outside my comfort zone since I know that I’m in a rut and so far it’s been a great thing, so lets check out what I got this month.
Adrianna Circle Bib Necklace
Initial Thoughts: This is cute, I’m not much of a jewelry person but I like the color and the style. It’s not something I would pick out for myself, but then again jewelry never is. So we’ll see how it feels wearing. If I can put it on and forget its there I’ll be happy. If it’s too heavy or distracting it would probably drive me nuts during the day.
Wearing It:This necklace was cute and I like it just fine, wearing it was a little odd. It didn’t sit flat and it was a little awkward in length not quite long enough or short enough to sit right.
Decision: Sending it back. It poked me a little weird, if I would have kept everything else I would have kept it just because it was cheaper.
Ortega Open Knit Perforated Cardigan
Initial Thoughts: The color is very bright and fun, since I have to wear long sleeves at work I end up with a lot of gray and black sweaters so that they go with everything. It would be nice to be able to mix it up every once in a while and this would be great for that!
Wearing It: The fabric was really soft and comfortable, I like the length and it works nicely for most of my work clothes.
Decision: Keeping it! I always need cute sweaters to wear at work and this one is a nice color to add to my closet.
Hollie Grid Print Blouse
Initial Thoughts: I love the print and feel of this one, it’s that sheer fabric that’s really popular right now and it’s also long sleeved so I can wear it to work or a date night!
Wearing It: I really liked the feel and fabric of this one but it was too tight across the chest and arms. Felt like I was going to Hulk out of it!
Decision: Sending it back, I would have loved to keep it, but the size just wasn’t working for me.
Yoko Sleeveless Tie Waist Floral Print Dress
Initial Thoughts: Love it! I can’t even describe how excited I am to try this dress on! It has a great heavy feel to the fabric that is definitely decadent and the pattern is so cute. I am really hopping this one fits and looks good on because I really want to keep it.
Wearing It: This one was SO hard. I loved this dress from the minute I pulled it out of the box and wanted it to fit so badly so I could keep it. Wearing it though, it was a pain to zip and I felt smushed into the top. I loved the swishy factor of the skirt though. And I was a little torn on the color, I worried it washed me out. I was so torn I even put it up on Instagram and Facebook to ask your help!
Decision: Literally, it wasn’t until I closed the return bag that I finally made the decision to send this one back. 🙁 I went back and forth all night. But I don’t need things in my closet that don’t quite fit and I have no reason to think Stitch Fix won’t send me another amazing dress. I gave them all the things I loved about this dress and my concerns in my checkout survey.
Corinna Striped Dolman Top
Initial Thoughts: This one is really cute, I love stripes a whole lot and this feels like something I would really enjoy wearing. Especially for game nights or our going to breakfast at our favorite weekend spot! I think it would look really cute with the black pants I got last month!
Wearing It: This is super comfortable and I have to laugh because it goes right into my black/gray clothing rut, but I love the cut and fabric so I think it’s ok!
Decision: Kept it! And I wore it to work today with my pants from my last Stitch Fix!! I love it, I felt very Audrey Hepburn-ish in this outfit and that is always a good thing! Want to see what else I’ve gotten from Stitch Fix? Check out my previous reviews:
