Yay, Stitch Fix day!! I love getting my box in the mail and seeing what my stylist has sent me, this month was a bit of mixed bag, and had some that I really loved and some that were just meh. If you haven’t heard of Stitch Fix it’s like dress up for adults! A personal stylist picks out 5 items for you based on a pretty extensive survey and your own Pinterest style boards and then you get to try them on from the comfort of your own home. You pay for what you keep and send back the rest (free shipping yay)!
This is my 4th box and so far I’ve kept some really great things that are definitely in heavy rotation now of my work and casual clothes. It’s been great to get rid of some of my old items that were just super out of style or that I never wore and mix in some high quality new pieces! So lets get to this month…
Yasmin Skinny Jean buy Mavi
Initial Thoughts: OH my!! These are very small looking! But then again I thought that about the black pants I got in my second box and now those are my most favorite pants to wear to work! So I’m nervous but excited to try them on because I think they’re super cute and I love the dark color.
Wearing It: Holy crap! TIGHT! They didn’t look bad, but I felt like if I bent over I was going to bust right out…you know, once I figured out which way they were supposed to be worn. Yikes!
Decision: Going back!
Meryl Tulip Print Sleeveless Blouse by Pixley
Initial Thoughts: My first thought was Tulip Time! Which is a big local festival around here, this would be perfect for that 😉 otherwise I really love the cut of this and feel like it would be nice to cover up my least favorite area (belly) but I’m worried about the smooshing effect up top that happens a lot with me. Fingers crossed.
Wearing It: This one is definitely comfortable, and didn’t have any problems with the dreaded smoosh! I liked it fine, but it was just fine. Nothing to write home about. It didn’t make me super excited.
Decision: Going back. It’s nice, but for the price I’d rather get something else.
Edmond Chevron Print Henley Shirt by Pixley
Initial Thoughts: Love the fabric of this a whole lot, I wish you could feel how soft it is! The color is really fun, I love pink but I am so pale that it often gets washed out on me. So with the blue it looks really nice an I love the options they paired it with too, feels very summery.
Wearing It: Love it!!! It’s SO comfortable and more than that the color is great for me, this is definitely th kind of thing that I want from Stitch Fix, I get in such a rut of blacks, grays, and blues. The pink on this really makes it pop and it makes me very happy to wear.
Decision: Keeping it!!!
Noah Textured Dress by 41Hawthorn
Initial Thoughts: This is cute, but I feel a little blah about it. I love the heavy feel of the fabric but the color is a little to in my usual realm, so it doesn’t feel like much of a departure from what I already have in the closet. I really love the cut though and that tends to be one that is flattering on me. Plus it has POCKETS!! I love pockets.
Wearing It: Ok, this one was hard, not as hard as the dress from last month, but still hard. It is super comfy to wear, I LOVE the pockets, the fabric is nice and heavy and it’s a flattering cut…but it’s black and white. Which is exactly like all of my other clothes. Though it’s definitely more white than most things I would wear (seriously, the struggle is real for a ghostly pale girl).
Decision: Keeping it. The price point is really nice and it is super comfy so I’ll jazz it up with a colorful sweater.
Azaria Circle Bib and Stone Necklace by Zad
Initial Thoughts: This reminds me a lot of the necklace I got in my other Stitch Fix box, it’s really pretty but I hope that it doesn’t poke as much as the last one did. This would be really cute with the Henley shirt that they sent.
Wearing It: Ok, so this was a lot better than the last necklace they sent me. Way more comfortable! I like the style and the color but I just felt kinda blah about this as well.
Decision: Sending it back. For the price I didn’t love it enough to keep it.
What would you have kept? Have you signed up for Stitch Fix yet? It’s definitely my favorite part of the month, I love seeing what they send and it was really fun to go over to my mom’s and try everything on and give Dustin a break from photo duty…and to get a second opinion on everything!
