I feel like I just did a Stitch Fix, probably because it’s only been a month! But we’ve got a blog conference coming up, and a bachelorette party, and a class reunion. So I wanted to find some pieces that would work for all of those! That meant I scheduled my next fix ahead of my typical every other month. Which made me quite happy because I LOVE Stitch Fix.
If this is your first time reading one of my reviews than here are the details. Stitch Fix is a really awesome clothing service. A personal stylist looks at your style profile, Pinterest board, and any special requests and then curates a box of 5 items. You get to try on your fix in the comfort of your own home, buy what you want to keep, and send back the rest. If you keep all 5 items you get an additional discount.
I can hardly believe I’m already onto box 7! I’ve gotten a number of really great items that I love, and it’s funny. Any time I’m wearing ‘real’ clothes, i.e. anything that isn’t yoga pants, I tend to have at least one Stitch Fix item on. I love having been able to clean out my closet, I now have less items but they’re higher quality and more versatile. If you’d like to get a Stitch Fix box of you own I’d love it if you’d use my referral link!
Now on to this box! I love that I got 2 skirts, I wear a lot of skirts and dresses so I specifically asked for a few more so I could have some more options. I also love it when they send me pieces that work together! I am so not fashionable or clever when it comes to clothes, so I need all the help I can get!
Sam Hi-Lo Short Sleeve Top by Market & Spruce
Initial Thoughts: I love the color and the fabric on this. It is so soft, and I am a fan of the longer in the back, I hate when shirts are too short at the waist, since that’s my least favorite area I like to have that little extra coverage.
Wearing It: Wearing it feels just as nice as I thought it would. The fit is good, and I like the idea of having a grown-up version of a t-shirt. The color looks nicely on me too, I’m getting pretty tan this year. Which is new for me and I like the way this one looks.
Final Decision: Keeping It!
Queensland Dolman Jersey Top by 41Hawthorn
Initial Thoughts: In the Stitch Fix Facebook group a lot of people have been loving these dolman tops. So I was pretty excited to get one in my box and see what all the fuss was about. I love the fabric, it’s really soft and light. Black is a color I tend to go to naturally, but I like that she sent it to go with the swing skirt I also got. I love when they send me pre-done outfits!
Wearing It: Not a fan of how this looks on me. It accentuates my wide shoulders and that’s not a good look on me. I’m really self-conscious of my broad upper body so I don’t like this top at all on me.
Final Decision: Going back
Kasidy Swing Skirt by Papermoon
Initial Thoughts: This is so fun! I love the pattern and the color is great! A-line skirts are my favorite and it’s a good length too. Plus Papermoon was kind enough to comment on my Instagram photo. Which is super classy of them and made me love this skirt even more.
Wearing It: I really like the on! As soon as I put it on Meaghan said I had to keep it! And I agree, I like the way it looks, it’s very flattering and fits perfectly.
Final Decision: Keeping it!
Carolyn Pleated Skirt by Pixley
Initial Thoughts: Oh Pixley, how I love you! I love the deep blue color on this skirt, and the pleats are really cute. A little unsure about the length it seems a bit awkward to me, but I’m willing to give it a chance. this is another one that they sent as part of an outfit for me, paired with the Fun2Fun blouse.
Wearing It: Meaghan was not a fan, but I liked it. So I asked my friend who is doing my wedding dress for a second opinion and she sided with me! I decided to get some unbiased opinions on Facebook and the majority of you guys sided with me too. So I’m keeping it! I really adore that blue.
Final Decision: Keeping it
Broadway Crochet Detail Blouse by Fun2Fun
Initial Thoughts: Love this! The crochet detailing is so cute and I really love the light fabric! The style is very me and I really like this top.
Wearing It: I now know what the Hulk feels like when he busts out of his clothes. 🙁 If the picture doesn’t quite show it, I was SUPER uncomfortable in this shirt, it pulled too tight across the shoulders and chest. Which if you hadn’t noticed is a constant problem with me. Major sad face.
Final Decision: Going back!
